Living in Auburndale, Queens NY
Auburndale, a neighborhood within north east Flushing, Queens, has a history rooted in farmland and development spurred by the Long Island Rail Road. Initially, the area was part of the larger Flushing settlement, which itself began as a Dutch colony in 1645. The name “Auburndale” was adopted in the early 20th century, inspired by the hometown of a land developer. The arrival of the railroad in 1901 significantly shaped Auburndale’s growth, attracting residents with its access to Manhattan.
Bagley Avenue is one short block between Auburndale Avenue and Utopia Parkway. It’s very near parks and playgrounds which are home to wildlife and clean air.
While Auburndale is within reach of many buses, highways, and houses of worship, it remains quiet and safe. making it one of Queens’ most desired neighborhoods. Today, Auburndale is a multicultural, residential neighborhood with access to transportation, including the LIRR, and amenities like Cunningham Park. It’s also known for its mix of restaurants and suburban feel.
